How an affiliate link works

In the course of working with the affiliate program, the affiliate places an affiliate link on his site. An affiliate link is generated on the basis of a link leading to the advertiser's website and containing the advertiser's GET parameters and UTM tags, necessary for the platform.

One of the GET parameters must pass the value of a unique identifier (click ID), which is generated on the side of the HOQU platform at the moment the user clicks on the link.

An example of a link after clicking on an affiliate link:

The value of the click ID must be obtained from the GET parameter (click_id) at the user's entrance to the site and saved for 30 days in cookies. After that, you need to associate the click ID with the completed user application and write it to the advertiser's database. The value of the click ID should be passed in the tracking code.

How tracking works without using cookies

After the user has followed the affiliate link and made the target action, the advertiser saves the value of the click ID and passes it in the tracking code in the click_id parameter.
